Growing up I was always involved in sports. I played football, basketball, and I ran track . I had a love for boxing and mixed martial arts, but was hesitant to get involved because, let's face it, who likes the idea of repeatedly getting hit in the face?
In 2017 the opportunity presented itself to sign up for a charity boxing match and I made the decision to finally get in the ring. I quickly learned the nuances of the sport and realized that boxing is about much more than taking a punch. The ability to let out steam punching a heavy bag, or throw uppercuts and work on my footwork with a trainer/partner was a life changing experience.
I was able to raise over $13k for the charity and I was hooked on the sport (pun intended).

Origin Story
Physical fitness has always been my outlet for stress, but most importantly, it keeps me on a routine. When the pandemic hit in 2019, day-to-day life was turned upside down. Quarantine forced the closure of school systems and local businesses, including my gym. Which might seem a trivial loss, but it supported the center of my well-being.
In my small San Diego apartment, I felt trapped. This led to a massive weight gain, constantly feeling down about myself. And, while the shift from quarantine to social distancing helped, I still couldn’t get back to my routine.

That’s how the Punchwrap idea was born. I started sketching ideas of a simple and effective way to bring the whole gym into my apartment. Over the course of 2019-2020 I designed and redesigned the idea until I had every piece of equipment needed to replace my entire gym routine, at home.
